The book of Genesis provides us with the foundation of God’s original design. The day of rest is not a human idea but God’s instituted idea. God rested from all His work of creation on the 7^th day. Scripture records for us that it was a day that God has blessed! There’s a blessing that comes to those who keep the day of rest. This is a fact attested over time – terms like burnout, exhaustion, depression, and fatigue are the outcome of working without rest. The day of rest was called holy by God because we need to reset and recharge after 6 days of work.

When we conform to God’s ordinance of making the day of rest holy and set apart for rest, we will be happier, healthier and livelier.

创世记为我们提供了神最初设计的基础。安息日不是人的想法，而是神所设立的。神在第七日从祂创造的工作中安息。圣经记载，这一天是神所赐福的！凡遵守安息日的人，必得祝福。这一点在时间的见证下被证实——像倦怠、疲惫、抑郁和精疲力竭等词汇，都是工作而不休息的结果。神称安息日为圣日，因为我们在辛劳六天后，需要重新调整和恢复力量。

当我们顺从神的命令，将安息日分别为圣，专门用于休息时，我们会变得更快乐、更健康、更有活力。

Kitab Kejadian memberikan kita dasar rencana asal Tuhan. Hari beristirahat bukanlah idea manusia tetapi idea yang telah ditetapkan oleh Tuhan. Tuhan beristirahat dari semua pekerjaan penciptaan-Nya pada hari ke-7. FirmanNya mencatatkan untuk kita bahawa itu adalah hari yang diberkati Tuhan! Ada berkat yang datang kepada mereka yang memelihara hari istirahat. Ini adalah fakta yang dibuktikan dari masa ke semasa – istilah seperti kelesuan, keletihan, kemurungan dan kelelahan adalah hasil daripada bekerja tanpa rehat. Hari beristirahat itu disebut kudus oleh Tuhan kerana tenaga kita perlu disegarkan selepas 6 hari bekerja.

Apabila kita mentaati perintah Tuhan dengan menjadikan hari istirahat itu kudus dan dikhususkan untuk berehat, kita akan menjadi lebih bahagia, lebih sihat dan lebih bersemangat.
