Something fantastic happened:
Ezra opened the Book;
All the people stood up in respectful silence;
Ezra blessed the great God;
All the people responded with hands lifted up and resounding praise and thanksgiving, “Amen, Amen!”;
They bowed their heads and worshiped the Lord with their faces on the floor.
They showed tremendous reverence to the Book.
It is noteworthy to read in verse 1 that it was “the Book of the Law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded Israel.” They respected the Book. They knew it as the very Word of the Lord. The Bible is God’s Word in written form. It is the complete divine authority on earth and in Heaven. Jesus said Heaven and earth shall pass away but His word shall remain and endure as the only rule of authority (Matthew 24:35). The Bible is our only source of authority. Give it your full attention.
Please remember what it is that you are reading and hearing. It is God’s Book. May the Holy Spirit bestow revelation of how marvellous, wonderful, powerful the Holy Bible is, so that we will listen and obey it for our own sake.
发生了一件非常震撼的事：

众百姓都肃然起立；
以斯拉称颂至大的神；
众民举手回应，大声赞美和感谢，说：“阿们！阿们！”；
他们低头，脸伏于地，敬拜耶和华。
他们对这本书显出极大的敬畏。
值得注意的是，第 1 节提到这是 “耶和华藉摩西所吩咐以色列人的律法书”。他们尊重这本书，因为他们知道这是神亲自的话语。圣经就是神写下来的话，是天地间完全的属灵权威。正如耶稣所说：“天地要废去，我的话却不能废去。” （马太福音 24:35）神的话是永远长存、绝对的权威，是我们唯一的准则。所以，你要全心留意神的话。
请记住，你所读、所听的，是神的书，是神亲自向你说话。愿圣灵开启我们，使我们看见圣经是何等奇妙、何等宝贵、何等有能力，好叫我们愿意聆听并顺服，为着我们自己的生命得益处。
Sesuatu yang luar biasa telah berlaku:
Ezra membuka Kitab tersebut;
Seluruh umat berdiri dalam keheningan dengan penuh hormat;
Ezra memuji Tuhan yang maha besar;
Seluruh umat menyambut dengan tangan terangkat serta pujian dan kesyukuran yang bergema, “Amin, Amin!”;
Mereka menundukkan kepala dan sujud menyembah kepada Tuhan dengan muka sampai ke tanah.
Mereka menunjukkan rasa hormat yang amat mendalam terhadap Kitab tersebut.
Sangat penting untuk diperhatikan dalam ayat 1 bahawa ia adalah “Kitab Taurat Musa, yang telah diperintahkan Tuhan kepada Israel.” Mereka menghormati Kitab itu. Mereka mengenalinya sebagai Firman Tuhan. Alkitab adalah Firman Tuhan dalam bentuk bertulis. Ia merupakan autoriti ilahi yang mutlak di bumi dan di Syurga. Yesus berkata bahawa langit dan bumi akan berlalu, tetapi firman-Nya akan tetap ada dan kekal sebagai satu-satunya kuasa mutlak (Matius 24:35). Alkitab adalah satu-satunya bagi kita sumber kuasa yang berdaulat. Berikanlah perhatian yang sepenuhnya.
Ingatlah apa yang sedang anda baca dan dengar. Ini adalah Kitab Tuhan. Semoga Roh Kudus memberikan pewahyuan tentang betapa menakjubkan, indah, dan berkuasanya Alkitab, supaya kita mahu mendengar dan mentaatinya demi kebaikan kita sendiri.
