For the longest time, the temple was neglected. A spiritual failure indeed. Now, they pledged their commitment towards the temple.
The phrase “house of God” was mentioned 9 times. This passage is about the house of God:
(a) loving her; (b) taking care of her; (c) financing her.
This is the Mark 12:30 moment; we are commanded to love the Lord with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength. This is also the Matthew 6:33 moment, the command to seek first the kingdom of God. To love God and put Him first are not just words or music but monetary commitment to His house. There is only one thing that Jesus built – His church (Matthew 16:18). Likewise, we are tasked to build His church.
To love God is to love what He loves. Christ loves His church and He gave up His life for her (Ephesians 5:25b). Christ cared for His church. 29 “After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, 30 just as Christ does the church–for we are members of his body.” (Ephesians 5:29-30)
Let us renew our pledge to love and build His church. Let us continue to be faithful and loyal. “We will not neglect the house of our God.” Amen.

让我们重申对祂教会的爱与建设的承诺。让我们继续保持忠诚。“我们决不会疏忽我们神的殿。”阿们。
Telah sekian lama, bait suci diabaikan. Nyata sekali ia suatu kegagalan rohani. Kini, mereka berikrar memberikan komitmen mereka terhadap bait suci.
Frasa “rumah Tuhan” telah disebutkan sebanyak 9 kali. Petikan ini adalah mengenai rumah Tuhan:
(a) mengasihinya; (b) menjaganya; (c) membiayainya.
Inilah detik Markus 12:30; kita diperintahkan untuk mengasihi Tuhan dengan segenap hati, jiwa, akal budi, dan kekuatan kita. Ini juga merupakan detik Matius 6:33, iaitu perintah untuk mencari dahulu kerajaan Tuhan. Mengasihi Tuhan dan mengutamakan-Nya bukan sekadar kata-kata atau muzik, melainkan komitmen kewangan terhadap rumah-Nya. Hanya ada satu perkara yang dibina oleh Yesus – gereja-Nya (Matius 16:18). Demikian juga, kita ditugaskan untuk membina gereja-Nya.
Mengasihi Tuhan bermakna mengasihi apa yang dikasihi-Nya. Kristus mengasihi gereja-Nya dan Dia telah menyerahkan nyawa-Nya untuknya (Efesus 5:25b). Kristus memelihara gereja-Nya. “Sebab tidak pernah orang membenci tubuhnya sendiri, tetapi mengasuhnya dan merawatinya, sama seperti Kristus terhadap jemaat, karena kita adalah anggota tubuh-Nya.” (Efesus 5:29-30)
Marilah kita memperbaharui ikrar kita untuk mengasihi dan membina gereja-Nya. Marilah kita terus setia dan taat. “Kami tidak akan mengabaikan rumah Tuhan kami.” Amin.
